1st Grade Reading Level Expectations: PLEASE SEE THE CHART BELOW FOR FIRST GRADE READING LEVEL EXPECTATIONS! I will communicate with you when your child is tested.
Important Dates: Monday, May 27 - Holiday - No School! Tuesday, May 28 - Field Day! Wear Blue or Yellow (according to email form teacher). May 28-31 No backpacks are allowed on the last week of school. Friday, May 31 - Last Day of School for students
May 28-31 What We Are Learning: Reading - We will be reading summer themed books and going over characters, setting, main idea, and details. We will also be completing end-of-year/summer themed reading and writing activities. No more SPELLING! Math - We review all math learned this year.
Writing - We will practice writing in complete sentences using proper punctuation and capitalization.
Science -We review science concepts from the school year. Social Studies - May is IB character traits month for SS.
i-Ready Practice - i-Ready passwords are stapled into agendas. Do 15 minutes each night if possible. Total of 45 minutes in reading and 45 minutes in math per week.
Reading Levels - Assessments for reading levels will occur in fall, winter and spring. Parents will be updated accordingly. See the chart below for reading level expectations for first grade.
